Sugar binge
Time is still on some days
And the eerie silences,
Play loud in my ears,
Lurk my heart to memories
That I boxed as dark chocolates-
More bitter and less sweet
But nevertheless chocolates.
.
It unboxed and unwrapped black dirty yet shimmery wrappers
And the chocolate is shoven into my heart to digest.
I mince them pretty fast
For it's a habit now,
And let it's taste linger
Through my nerves
Till I feel my gut knitting.
.
Ohh, the after-taste in my body
It leaves, ties me to the past
And let my head spin in illusions.
I drink gallons of water
To wash off the taste
Or pull up a box of spicy savories.
When nothing helps,
I search all it's minute sweetness
From the enwrapped bitterness.
I remind myself that it's dark,
But it's still chocolate.
