A reminder after a long time

It's been long. 

So long since I was slut shamed.

And it happened today.

Haven't waken up to Maa shouting to chop the vegetables or sweep the floor.

Dad has given up giving disappointed looks at my attire recently.

Something was changing. 

It wasn't an epiphany.

But a gradual evolution with discomfort, awkwardness and

Tons of acceptance.

But, is it normal to feel incomplete?

To not feel reminded of my gender?

And it happened today.

I was reminded of my place.

This feeling is very familiar,

Only that it was a treasonous jolt in my memory.

Some things never change.

Like time and nature.

Change is an illusion.

Some things are constant.

And I am a girl.

It's been long.

So long since I was slut shamed.

And it happened today.
