A little love that day

Today is one of those days of not feeling so good or "normal", like many other days during this quarantine. After pampering myself and doing a great deal of things that usually lift my mood, I still felt the same way.

It's hard to not keep a sulken face and grumpy behaviour for no reason at all. But today, a very rare memory popped into my brains and made me write this.

I hope it helps to curb away those lonely and i-dont-want-anyone phases for you too.

There was a girl in my school who was considered not so friendly for having what we call as "close" friends or "best" friends. It wasn't like everybody avoided her but she was always the last option for most of the people in the class to hangout.

She sat behind me that entire year and I remember that I was the only person who would share lunch and talk with her. It was just a casual conversation for me.

Once, when we were given an assignment to talk about our favourite person in the class, everybody were too excited to listen their names as the favourite of someone. When it was the girl's turn (The girl who made my day today and that day), I remember nobody being excited and everyone minding their own businesses. The teacher hushed the class to silence and made us listen to her.

She gave the most beautiful speech that day without confessing who her favourite person was. She kept everyone guessing the personality.

After her long speech, she gave a pause, and said that her favourite person in the class was me and she loved me.

It's been more than twelve years since this happened and I honestly have no contact of her. But this memory somehow popped up in my head and made my day. I wish I am  unintentionally "nice" to people like that little girl. Because being kind can make anybody's day a little brighter, sometimes ours' too, like today.
